WW2 Day in Maple Class

On Friday 30th September the children in Years 5 and 6 (Maple class) had a WW2 experience day in school.  They came to school dressed as children in the early 1940's, and of course, they had to bring their gas mask to school with them too!  The children found themselves evacuated to different counties, where they learnt to 'make do and mend', they made vegetable soup (after digging the vegetables up in the garden) and recreated a blitz picture of the bombing of Coventry Cathedral.  Mrs Woon came into talk to the children about rationing during WW2, it was very interesting.  The children had a fantastic day, and learnt a lot about how people survived during war time.
