Victorians at Holdenby House

On Friday 9th June the children in Cherry class enjoyed a trip to Holdenby House, they spent the day in role play as Victorian servants taken from a workhouse where they undertook jobs around the big house.

They took part in workshops in the kitchen, bedroom and laundry room where only 'perfection is good enough!'  They also presented to her Ladyship in the afternoon to recite a poem.

The children worked really hard, and now have a first hand idea of how hard the children had to work in those days.  Here are a few photos taken during the day:
