Maple Visit Coventry Cathedral

As part of their WW2 topic, Maple class enjoyed a very interesting trip to Coventry Cathedral on Thursday 29th November.

They were given a guided tour where they investigated the ruins of the old Cathedral and also were shown around the new Cathedral. They found out all about the WW2 blitz when they visited the Bliz Museum which had a recreated 1940's kitchen, classroom and Anderson shelter.  Here they heard all about the events of the night of 14th November 1940 and were able to get a feeling of what it was like during the war.

It was very interesting to find out about how people coped, the challenges they faced during war time and all about "Make do and Mend", rationing and air raids.
