The children in Rowan class tasted a piece of France during their French lesson last week when they sampled a piece of Galette des Rois (King cake) traditionally eaten on the day of Epiphany.
It is a cake made of puff pastry, marzipan and jam and it is delicious! A little charm was traditionally hidden in the cake, and the person who had the piece of cake with the charm in it was called, 'The King of the Feast'.
