Goodbye Mrs Hopkins!

Today was a sad day in school for both children and staff.  This morning we held a special assembly to say 'Goodbye' to Karen Hopkins who has been a Teaching Assistant at Kilsby Primary School for almost 13 years.  She is leaving us to retire and will be shortly moving house to Shropshire to be nearer some of her family.

During the assembly she was given a beautiful handmade card from each of the four classes, each containing a little personal message from every child.  We gave her gifts of flowers, a photo memory book containing pictures taken throughout her time at Kilsby, a framed class photo and also some Laura Ashley vouchers that she will be able to spend on her new home, she was extremely touched by it all.  During the assembly, we even got her to dance on the table for us one more time!!

Mrs Hopkins has been a real asset to the school and a great colleague too, always so kind and caring, ready to help out at the drop of a hat, and always with good humour.  All the children who have known her, past and present, will fondly remember their time in class with her, staff alike, she will be greatly missed by all.

We wish Mrs Hopkins all the very best for her future, and a very long, happy and enjoyable retirement.  We hope that she will keep in touch and pop in to see us when she returns to the area.
