This morning the children in Chestnut, Cherry and Cedar classes were really excited as they had a visit from a real fire engine and it's firemen!
The firemen showed the children all the equipment they carry with them on the fire engine, explaining what they do in an emergency when they have to fight a fire or perform a rescue and what protection they wear. They talked to the children about fire safety.
Cedar class were unable to set fire to their model houses to re-enact the scene from The Great Fire of London as this is not good practice for the fire brigade, but we did pretend Pudding Lane was on fire and the children got to use the fire hose to put the flames out. 🔥
The children took turns to ask the firemen their questions, it was really interesting and the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
