Cherry class had another fantastic week last week.
The children again enjoyed a visit to the library and chose their 'reading for pleasure' book. They also have their new E book to read at home. During the week the whole class had the opportunity to browse the visiting book fair, which will continue in school until Wednesday 9th February. In Maths they learnt all about the days of the week and months of the year and the children enjoyed exploring 'Before and After.' The Maths lesson was finished off with a quiz rounding up all they had learnt during the week.
In their English lesson they had a go at designing their own setting and character. They really enjoyed this and they will use these ideas to write their very own story.
We celebrated National Book Reading week by reading stories from various different authors. Some of the authors we looked at are: David Mckee, Enid Blyton, Eileen Browne, David Walliams to name a few. We also read the 'Gruffalo' and then made some yummy Gruffalo claws.
