Chestnut Class' first whole week in School

The Reception children had a busy week last week - they spent time learning the sounds s, a, t, p in phonics.  It was their first whole week in school when they stayed from 9am to 3.10pm every day!

In their Learning Through Play - they have enjoyed lots of play including building dens, creating models, playing families, making hot chocolate in the mud kitchen and riding on the bikes/scooters!

In Maths they played games to practise their number recognition and 1:1 counting skills, and during their Collective Worship lesson they learnt all about our school value ‘care’, discussing how we show care for others, our toys and the environment.

They also learnt the Makaton signs for good morning, good afternoon, please, thank you, play & sorry.

A great first whole week in school!
