This week Maple class are taking part in Bikeability Level 1 and 2 cycle training sessions run by the Department of Transport. The course runs from Monday to Thursday inclusive and it will hopefully will provide the children with the skills and confidence to ride their bikes confidently and more often.
They brought their own bikes and helmets into school. On Monday they spent the day cycling round the playground and practicing basic cycling skills in preparation for venturing out onto the roads during the following days.
Today, Tuesday, they will be cycling on the roads in Kilsby with their tutors, practicing different manoeuvres whilst taking care to remain alert, careful and considerate to other road users.
