Yesterday children from both Cherry and Maple classes travelled by coach to Leicester to visit the Masjid Umar Mosque. This is forms part of our Religious Education curriculum which requires children to learn about different religious beliefs, and therefore an opportunity to learn about another faith and experience a different place of worship.
The children had a tour of the mosque with a factual talk based on the uses and various parts of the building and the 5 Pillars of Islam. While they were there, they visited the Ablution Area, Prayer Hall and Madrasah facilities. It was an interesting visit.
