As part of their science lesson, the Year 4 children in Hazel class wanted to go outside and check to see how their bird’s nests were doing, especially after the very strong wind and rain we had experienced! They had made their nests earlier in the week using natural materials as the birds would do, and placed them outside to see what would happen to them.
Surprisingly, they found that two of their nests had managed to survive the battering, which is a good result! This made the class realise just how difficult it is to make a nest that will endure bad weather! They came to the conclusion that birds are very clever things, especially to be able to do this!
