Yesterday, Thursday 10th November was World Science Day the whole school had a fun afternoon of Science conducting experiments.
Maple class created Fruit Volcanoes using lemons, limes and oranges with food colouring, washing up liquid and bicarbonate of soda. The children were fascinated with the results.
Cedar class did several experiments, the first one involving coke and mentos didn’t quite go according to plan, but as true scientists the children evaluated what may have gone wrong and what they might try next time. Their second experiment was all the colours of the rainbow! They talked about how water makes things dissolve and change their make up. Their final experiment showed to power of gas! They wondered how loud it would be if our balloon popped!
To celebrate World Science Day the Reception children did a Science experiment called ‘Fireworks in a Glass’. Oil and food colouring were added to warm water and the all watched the reaction!
