Last week the Reception children in Chestnut class were practising writing their names, also number formation to 5 and learning all about one more than numbers to 5 then 10.
In Phonics they learnt the sounds ck, u, e, r and the tricky word ‘I’.
They learnt all about Harvest festival and made their harvest crowns for the church service and in collective worship found out about the value of 'achievement'..
In PE the children concentrated on how to listen and follow instructions. They practised the skills of side stepping, hopping, jumping and skipping.Our current topic is Happy to be Me’ and the children have been learning about families and they created a picture of their own families.
They also enjoyed a story from their first secret reader - who happened to be ....Iona’s mummy!
